Signing of the Cyprus Collective Bargaining Agreement for Seafarers

The Cyprus Shipowners Employers' Association (CYSEA), together with the two Cyprus seafarers trade unions, “SEK” and “PEO”, signed the renewal of the Cyprus Collective Bargaining Agreement for Seafarers employed on Cyprus flag ships at a ceremony held on 29 November 2017, in Limassol. The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) is also a co-signatory to the Agreement.

The signing of the renewal of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the year 2018, which was the result of fruitful negotiations between the social partners in Cyprus Shipping, proves once more the sustainable environment in Cyprus Shipping with strong maritime labour relations among social partners.

The renewed Collective Bargaining Agreement, the content of which has been updated, creates very promising prospects for the further development of the Cyprus Shipping Industry and the Cyprus Flag, as well by extension, to the significant financial contribution of Cyprus Shipping at large, to the Cyprus economy.
