Six injured during explosion in pilot boat off Malaysia
 
Six crew members sustained injuries at sea during an explosion involving a gas tanker and a pilot boat. The incident took place five nautical miles off Pulau Sialu on December 14 2018. The victims were transported to the Batu Pahat Maritime Zone jetty and then to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital.

USCG takes control of MC20 oil discharge response
 
The US Coast Guard has partially taken over response operations to contain an oil discharge from the site of the collapsed Mississippi Canyon Block 20 offshore platform 11 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi River. USCG will now access the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund and assume authority for containing and disposing the oil.

Port of Amsterdam to accommodate new plastics recycling plant
 
The circular plastics hub in the Port of Amsterdam is expanding as a new plastics recycling plant will be constructed. Namely, Plastic Recycling Amsterdam began construction of a plant this week. The plant will initially process 17,000 tonnes of plastics annually and prepare them to be reused.
